Why I became a Chaplain:

Prior to joining the Chaplaincy full-time, I worked as a technician, supervisor, salesman, Assistant Manager, Manager and finally Nor Cal Operations Manager for a large service company. I had a friend that was involved with the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento. He said they had a school program that provided both reactive and proactive help to kids in crisis. In 2008, I decided to try it part-time while working full-time! In 2012, I retired from the company that had my life for 32 years! During that time, I coached youth baseball for 22 years. I enjoyed working with the youth during my years of travel baseball and recreational league baseball, so the youth program was a perfect fit! It’s been 15 years now, and I have enjoyed (most of the time) the challenge of helping students and staff that have been traumatized. It is a unique opportunity to help people in crisis that not all people can do.
